- Design and operating pressure and temperature
- Line size, connection and piping standard
- Flow rate or control objective, where relevant
- Manual or powered operation; control signal and fail position

Attach the existing valve schedule, datasheet or drawing if you have one. Indicate any required inspection, testing or documentation standard.
With these inputs, the valve structure, wetted materials, sealing and actuation can be discussed together rather than as separate assumptions.
